A cause that I hold dear and near to my heart has been working towards diversity appreciation and tolerance. Accordingly, starting my freshman year in college I became actively involved as a member of
Hillel, the Jewish Student Union. Following an active year of membership, I was elected to be the Vice of President of Jewish Awareness and Social Action. In this position, I aimed to increase campus wide tolerance by active educational programming about Holocaust remembrance. On November 8, 2006 , in an event titled Speak Out: Voices of the Holocaust, I brought to campus 3 holocaust speakers including a Kristallnacht survivor, an American solider that liberated the camps, a holocaust survivor that was relocated to five different death camps. Bellow you'll find pictures from the event. The following two years, I took the position of president focusing on making Hillel an established and well known organization on campus. The position allowed me to help Hillel become a stronger club and additionally helped me develop a set skills necessary to network and create large events. Bellow you find some more pictures of various Hillel functions in conjunction to some of the people that I came in contact with through my involvement.
